Hello from the southern New England area. I've been interested in these cute vehicles for a while, and only recently has it become a possibility for me to begin considering buying one. While not particularly mechanically minded, I do enjoy various engineering related hobbies. Restoring or maintaining a vehicle sounds like a suitably worthwhile pastime.
I notice your signature mentions the Philippines. I have some family there, and when I was very young I remember being fascinated by the Kei cars (of which I honestly think more people need to use, as the roads are utterly clogged with american fat trucks that serve no purpose now) and the tricycle taxis. I was slightly disappointed to learn after getting my motorcycle endorsement, that the trikes are banned here for having what constitutes a chassis on an otherwise legal motorcycle/sidecar configuration. its probably no surprise that I ended up here in my pursuit of knowledge in order to not get burned on expensive mistakes again.
I am married to a Filipina and am retired living here. The Kei sized vehicles are about right for here considering the speeds traveled and the traffic congestion. If I was younger I might have considered a motortrike as a vehicle but under the circumstances, the kei class Suzuki CarryVan seems just about right for me here. Fred
