I have cracked the block in my 1991 Hijet and I need to locate a used engine to put in. Anyone have any tips on where to be searching? I have been looking on craigslist and ebay. I'm located in South Alabama so there aren't that many mini truck around here. Any ideas?
I second jwicker's advice, contact Terry. I believe he or someone else on the forum mentioned a engine reman company in Texas that has import used and reman engines. Every once in a while, one will pop up on eBay. Also, I use http://www.adhuntr.com to search all cities / states through craigslist at once. Keep us posted, good luck!

It's missing a few things, but if your motor's only suffering from a cracked block, you could probably take two and make one. It's got the "Make Offer" option as well. I've had great luck with uship.com to ship eBay items.
I think Terry has a motor that smokes - but to Inane's point, you might be able to make 1 good one out of 2 partials.

Thanks guys. I have talked to Chase and he was very nice, i just didnt want to put a smaller motor in my truck. I have found a local engine that has low miles but with a bad carb. I figured I could just use my carb on the new engine. The motor I found is from a 98 midget. My mechanic seems to think that it will work, anyone disagree? I realize that one is a automatic and one is manual but that shouldnt be an issue. Let me know your thoughts

Udpate: I have swapped my bad motor for the motor out of the 98 midget I bought here locally. The truck is back at the camp and running good! Got my mechanic to put some snorkels on the truck JUST INCASE I have to cross some more water. Now I gotta sell the 98 Midget that I took the engine from. Thanks again for the advice. Morgan
