So I modified a set of the cheap coil over kits ( $140 ) and used progressive 10” springs instead of the 475 lb springs that came on them. Was looking for a 2-3” lift and support for a real hydraulic plow like a suburbanite. Passenger side went on with zero issues and camber was dead on with 1.5” of lift at its lowest adjustment. Drivers side was a different story in that I could not get the strut bolts to go into the knuckle. I realized the lower ball joint was at its limit and would not allow me to push the knuckle any closer to the strut. I had to put one bolt in and then lower the truck on the wheel to compress the strut and improve the lower ball joint angle. I thought this was very odd at 1.5” when everyone seems to agree that 2” is no issue and some say 3” with the only issue being the CVs. I was planning on dropping the cross member but now I see it’s a necessity. This truck looks straight and clean and I see no damage to the lower control arm. Sorry no pictures right now will probably update tonight.
