Hello, See my signature for details but I am wondering if anyone knows how to tell if the front awd coupler that bolts to the front diff is bad. I believe it’s called the hydraulic coupling unit (hcu), but searches don’t seem to recognize it. Here’s my reason for asking. My van is on tracks, so obviously there is more of a load than tires. However I have a suspicion that the coupler is slipping (possibly) and not putting power to the front tracks. Therefore really increasing the engine load as only the rear tracks are pushing the friction of the tracks versus the front tracks pulling as well. I had the coupling out when I rebuilt my engine and found I could rotate it by hand.
