Hello. I have a 91 (I'll have to check) Mits that I was driving daily until the snow came. I've see that some kei trucks have a mechanical PTO to power dump beds. Did the Mits's have this option? Does anyone have any pics of the controls and or the mechanical links? Can a Mits be retrofitted for the pto?

yes some came with PTO...I sold a few. Can't be retrofit without all the transfer case hardware, pump, etc and that would be nearly impossible to get for you at any reasonable price.

    more on mechanical PTOs

Can the mechanical PTO only be operated when the truck is stationary? Anyone know the rotational speed of the PTO shaft?

Clutch need to be engaged. The PTO unit I've sold had an integral pump and the shaft was not visable...therefore I was not able to check speed.

I have a Daihatsu dump with an engine belt driven pump. That one can be tach'd.
