ok just a thought ! quote from the site: Lowest profile tire made for a 12" wheel. We have this tire shown mounted on our 6 spoke chromed aluminum ITP 6 spoke golf cart wheel. Only 18.1" tall, 8" wide and fits on a our 12" golf cart wheels. This golf cart tire is golf course approved and street legal - DOT. Low profile 205/30-12 golf cart tires. 4 tires -- $172.99 http://golfcarttirestore.com/205-30-12.htm
What would be the uses for such a tire and wheel? What is the advantage of low profile tires for a mini truck? Thanks, Samurai
tires my truck came with 10 inch tires . if i want to go off road i take my buggy . it's served me well since 1976. i got the truck as a toy, so street tires are ok for me.
Big 10" If Larryn2o has a U.S. spec mits 2wd/lhd it originally came with 5.00-10-8PR or 20x8.0-10-6PR (turf tire). Samurai9, "what is the advantage of low profile tires for a mini-truck?" - load capacity and the ability to carry the load. it's easier for the engine/drive train to turn a low profile tire vs. a taller profile tire. example: (mits U14T-2wd) veh curb wt - kg(lbs) 640(1411) GVWR with 5.00-10-8PR: 1400(3086) = load 760(1675) GVWR with 20x8.0-10-4PR: 1045(2304) = load 405(893) (noting that a lot of this difference may be in the ply rating of the tires) for the mits U15T - 4wd lhd veh curb wt @717(1580) - approx wt due to 33lbs diff in tire wt GVWR with 5.00-12-6PR: 1400(3086) = load 690(1521) GVWR with 23x8.5-12-4PR (turf): 1250(2756) = load 525(1158) These figures are for mits w/550cc engines but might be a ballpark rating for other brand keis. later.......slim

sorry about the white stuff .it was the first we have had in 8 or 9 years & it only lasted 2 hours. just had to show it off. oh yea there's a truck in the picture too! larry
Larry, this is a wild vehicle. How did you get it? How does it run? What do you use it for? Why the different wheels front and back? Sam
toy i got it locally , the dealer gets one with each load. a lady in town has a black one . it is a hi jet frame with a one seat body on it . runs ok just geared VERY short from the factory . might go 10 MPH in 1st gear and 60 in 4th. i got it for a toy , plan to do a few car shows & Cruise. the back wheels are ford pinto with 185/60r/13 tires and the front ones are Pro-line mags with 175/50r13 tires. when this was shot . i was just trying different wheels to see what would fit. it came with 145/90r10 tires but the owner in Japan had put 12 inch daihatsu factory mags on it with 145/70r12 tires. just got an email from Japan Car Exports ,that my 5 speed shipped today , should be here later this week. if the overdrive works out then i may go back to the factory wheels. i will be putting a 5 speed in it later this week , neat link about this truck http://translate.google.com/transla...t=70&hl=en&rls=GGIT,GGIT:2007-03,GGIT:en&sa=N
Bigger wheels Low profile tires? If you used low profile tires would that allow you to use a larger wheel, say a 14 inch wheel and still get clearance. It seems a larger wheel would change the angle on the axle to benefit the taller lifts. Am I thinking right here?? Jim
wheel it's the same as the street cars using a plus 1 or 2 wheel / tire combo. you go from a 145/80r12 to a 145/70r13 or in mycase a 175/50r13. as long as the outside diameter is about the same it should clear on the back. what i found was with more wheel offset .the front wheels make a wider arc when turning and the tires hit the fenders . the same size tires clear when on a wheel with less offset. also a high offset and wide wheel will tend to make independent suspension sit lower .
