Sure you just don't have one of the locker buttons pressed down? My 98 DB41 has a button on the right and another on the left of the dash - right says Diff lock - left says axle lock...if you have one on and turn slightly things click cause of axle wrap up. I could be totally wrong ,but before you go rebuilding it it tell us more about how it started what you did with it before it started ... how well do you know these trucks ? ??? Hopifully it's something small and not a trans rebuild or replace.
It had Diff Lock but only one button not two, i was just driving normal on a dirt road i got to hearing a small ticking when i slowed down and take off in first second and 3rd gear you could hear it really loud it kind of sounds like a kid with a card in there bicycle spokes and this is my first little truck and in neutral u can hear it to push clutch in it stop noise
Man, that could be anything. I had the same thing last fall, turned out to be a piece of fishing line that had wrapped around the drive shaft. Have you looked under the truck
Noise is very hard to place. I have had a spring break inside the d Brake drum that would catch on the turning parts and click like you say. Take your rear tire off and pull the drum just to look... And or I agree just look around under the truck at all the moving parts areas to see you didn't pick up a pease of wire or who knows what! Good luck!
it is the trans because road in bed of truck with plat out u can hear it good and in nuetral the same noise push clutch in it stop noise
i replacement them ordered from chad heights i would like to say thanks for trying to help me with this thing cant type or spell very good it is more like hunt and poke then type
Sounds like you already know what the problems are. Bad throw-out-bearing, or failure to/ improper installation of components.
