Try Hagerty. Mine is only $140 a year. Grundy will also insure them for a similar price. They were both willing to value my Sambar Dais II at $7000.

Thank you so much. I almost got liability only on my Hijet for $600/yr because I didn’t even think about Grundy or Hagerty. Come to think of it, I wouldn’t have even tried because those guys charge my boss through the nose for his classic cars. I just got a quote for $131 from Grundy

I have allstate,$30 a month for full coverage, valued at $7000. That being said, they took a few days to figure it out.

    Hey...
Looking to insure a new 2024 Daihatsu Hijet. Can't seem to find anyone that will. Check with Hagerty, and they won't insure it because it's not 25 years old.
What are people doing for newer minitrucks?

I tried hagerty and Grundy. Both told me my vehicle didn’t qualify. Now I have liability only through GEICO on both of my 99 Hijets

I just got my 2000 Acty Attack insured yesterday with Hagerty. They initially denied it as it is not a truck they have insured before. I appealed the denial to a Supervisor on Friday. They asked for more pictures and my reasoning for its collectability. They decided on Monday they would cover it. It may have helped that I already have my 96 Sambar Dias II with them already?

I have my 94 Minicab insured through Progressive with full comprehensive coverage and a replacement value of up to $10K for $562/year. Of course, the premium is going to be dependent on your coverage levels, driver history, and number of claims filed.

    Hi guys...
Just an update on this. I checked with EVERYONE and just about lost faith that I was going to get insurance for it.
    - State Farm - would insure the new deck van, but I would need to transfer my other auto policy there as well. They wouldn't insure it as a standalone policy.
    - Liberty Insurance - No
    - Progressive - No
    - Allstate - Never got back to me
    - Hagerty - No (not a collector)
    - Grundy - No (not a collector)
    - American Family offered to insure it. They will insure it for on-road or off-road use. Since I can't title it for road use, they are insuring it for ~$280/year for off-road use with a $250 deductible.
I was pretty impressed, and they were the last company that I checked with.

It's interesting to see how some companies, such as Progressive, will insure a vehicle in one location but not in another. I found them to be really easy to work with, but others obviously had a different experience.
