Idle woes

    Hey everyone

660 SC samba, idle is either hunting at 3000 and will rev, or, 1500 and won't rev.
Spotted the little solenoid which opens the second butterfly on the throttle body, doesn't seem to be moving so I'm guessing this is the main culprit.

The Sambars are few and far between in the UK, let alone breakers.

Is there any reliable source for parts over here? Or is there a part which is suitable? Maybe from another engine or one of the clones?

Any help would be great, I can live with all the other faults but if I can't get the engine running right then engine swap or scrap yard is the only option.

    Cheers

    That link won't work, bugger!

Found the pipe from supercharger to manifold split. Glued and wrapped it for the time being, ran a bit better, down to 1800rpm.

Chances are there is another split some where.

Just tried the link and it won't work for me either. Just search for megazip.

if you need parts contact Carepo, when my 1991 Sambar got written off a few months ago they told me they have some Sambar over in their wrecking yard. i ended up ordering some parts for my Toyota Crown from them recently, arrived from Japan to Canada 7 days after payment no issues and they keep very good email contact/English.

    Cheers maximal,

I contacted a Subaru specialist, asked if he catered for the sambar, his reply,
"not if I can help it!"
