I drove my mini truck out to the old tobacco barn. I left it idling while i went into the barn. it stopped, now it won't start. What is wrong with my truck? It looks sad sitting out on the field.
is this a riddle? or do you really not know why? suppose ill use my lateral thinking skills... 1. You have a Fuel Injected model, and an EMP grenade has been set off in the area of your barn thus stalling your vehicle and destroying the ECU? 2. You plumb ran out of fuel 3. Your alternator is broken, and now your battery is dead? 4. You bought those cheap aftermarket plug wires many of the dealers in here sell and one of them has vibrated loose and is no longer connected, thus a stall, and a no restart. 5. You havent actually returned to your barn yet and you are attempting to start your truck by telekinesis? 6. your wife noticed what you were doing, was tired of you paying more attention to your truck and not her, so while you were out, she went to the barn, took the keys out, and will not give them to you. Thus it wont start now. Thats about all i can think of for now... anyone feel free to contribute...
I like your attitude but you have also read most of these posts just like me and the getting simple questions answered is like pulling teeth or I haven't gotten off my butt to do simple diagnostics oh yeah, my truck is Red
kinda brown with rusty tin, some of the roof has failed and some of the main beams are rotting and the foundation is garbage The builder used clay for mortar i believe
Placing tin foil under your seats work wonders. For added protection take your old head liner out and replace with foil. Cosmo radiation will kill a truck faster than anything else
anybody know the color codes for the fuel pump wires and what not before i look and search also output pressure?
ok, I read the whole fuel pump thread. so where is the FP relay on a dd51T? not behind the inst cluster nothing clicking near the coil ....... what color wires going to it?
Did you turn the key? Or were you trying to start it by telepathy? How far from the barn was it parked?
it was about 15-20 ft from the barn I drug it back to the shed with my truck(which is white) and checked for sparky.....I have sparky I checked for fuel at the carby...... I have no fuel at the carby I checked the fuses(all of them at the fuse block next to the steering column) I removed the inst cluster to look for the FP relay there is a black box there but it has about 8-10 wires and a circuit card with some diodes/resistors/caps/stuff.....therefore, probably not a relay there is a black box near the coil with 4 wires....looks like a relay but doesn't look like it can be cracked open..... 4 wires .... black, black-white stripe, brown, brown- white dashes I also e-mailed guy from FP thread for a wiring diagram.
You might want to try the ignition switch first, they get dirty or corroded and the initial 3 seconds to charge the pump run through this circuit for power. No power; no pump action. The relay is( drivers side) to the very far right of the instrument panel. If you sitting in the car directly above your right leg attached (sometimes) to the inner plastic side of the dash cover. Others to the inner dash support frame. Little black dude that says DENSO (usually). I’d go with the ignition switch first before you go ripping the truck apart…LOL. Cheers, Don PS. THe little black box by the coil is the noise filter.
never could find the stupid FP relay took the ign switch apart and dang if there wasn't a burnt connection cleaned it up with sand paper red truck runs again upped the idle gathered a load of wood red truck is happy again Donald A I owe you a beer or drink of your choice
Another little problem got fixed while ripping apart the dash. i moved the indicator light bulb in the frond lock out switch....and ..... it worked. One of the prev owners installed the bulb socket in the wrong hole
Just change the switch to a new unit. The relays very very very rarely fail. If you need Suzuki OEM parts (new) we have everything in stock. Not China junk....lol. Cheers, Don www.yokohamamotors.com
ok, i'll agree it is the switch I have a temp replacement thanks to a GEO Metro parts car ign switch traced both wiring diagrams and spliced everything together switch dont fit into lock....i'll deal with it later, but the retard truck is hauling wood again
AWESOME find of the day..... I went to the pick-a-part looking for a inside drivers door handle for my Metro my car is blue they had a blue metro(different shade of blue) but the door handles had already been picked Well I walked past a green geo tracker....with the steering cowl removed and the ign switch looked really familiar..... I went out to the metro, dug around the pile of crap inside and found my bad suzuki ign switch. Took it in and compared it to the tracker switch...... I bought it.... 20 bucks I just directly plugged it in and started my truck with the key it has an extra blk/white wire which could be useful for a switched power for a winch.... HECK YEAH, LIL UGLY TRUCK WILL RIDE AGAIN
Got any pictures? Great find!!! Thanks.... especially for the extra wire output, could be real handy. What year was the Tracker?
http://www.minitrucktalk.com/showthread.php?t=98 Page 4 is the relay location for the 90 carry. behind glove box... Hope yours is NOT behind the gauge cluster, or you have the hands of a pigmy fraggle because it was a pain in the a$k to get everything back together on my truck after finding no relay there! Good find on the ignition switch!
it was green it looked just like a carry switch complete with the plug on the other end with 3 xtra wires 2 green for the ign dinger separate plug and one extra blk/white for extra switched power another separate plug i didn't need a pic to recognize it when yours breaks you will k
back again.....yea yesterdays troubleshooting reveals(so far) truck had been up and running for 2-3 weeks fine will now run for 1-2 min then stop the fuel pump will charge up and fill the carb I can even hear it click a couple of times before starting the truck start truck and move it 50-100 ft then it will stall out from fuel starvation all fuses are good can re-prime the carb and move a few more feet back to the wiring diagram i guess do ya think it might have anything to due with the teal rims on the black trailer?
hhhmmm ..what colour is your dog? that could be the problem right there have you checked the fuel filter?
nah I didn't check it.... i replaced it with a cheepo 2 dollar wix KISS the only thing i didn't service when i got the truck...... 17-18 yrs and the dang filters just crap out, go figure:sly:
and it died again a new fuel pump out of a daihatsu gets it running again....how long will it last this time?
