Always regretted selling my 1995 Hijet. It was a great little truck to me. Been looking for awhile and finally found a fully loaded 1999 Hijet in great shape: 40K miles A/C Aftermarket stereo Power steering 5 speed 4x4 w/diff lock and hi/lo Digital US speedo Aftermarket steering wheel (horn works) Aftermarket wheels Perfect engine cover LED bulbs Perfect interior Only surface rust $7,500 which seems like a deal to me the way prices have gone. So many plans for this one.
I’ll definitely be grabbing more when I get her home Friday. I have $2K in parts already stock-piled from Japan and lots of plans.
Turbo can paint with 2K clear Bed liner Tonneau cover Bed chains New wheels / tires Front / Rear spoiler Cab spoiler New rubber bed stoppers New aluminum emblems New taillights Side panel body kit + fender flares New vent guards Head light eye brows Tint Light bar Quick release steering wheel Alcantara steering wheel Sound deadening Seat covers Carpeted interior Custom floor mats Custom headliner New door panels New door cranks New grab bars New head unit with pop up screen New sunvisors Cover all metal in the interior New shifter Everything is either ordered months ago and sitting in my garage or is on the way from Buyee.
Looking slick! Can't wait to see the finished project! Just now starting work on mine and you just got me more excited!
Got quite a bit of the interior done today. - Sound deadening - Felt flooring - Seat covers - Door cards - Window cranks - Shifter + boot - e-brake handle + boot - front/rear plate covers - steering wheel - wrapped window sill with Alcantara - wrapped center counsel with Alcantara - misc. boy racer stuff
Didn’t like how the weather stripping was working so I swapped it out for some black paracord. Was thinking of going with red but chickened out. Good way to cover seams IMHO. Also added the cheap speaker grills and nut covers on the wiper arms.
Added new sun visors and braided paracord grab handles. Finished some more of the Alcantara around the windshield and door area. Still need to do the back around the rear window.
Going to be a busy weekend. Parts from Buyee delivered today. - New taillight lenses - New rubber bumpers - New bed locks - New Carbon Fiber mirror covers
It’s going to get even more fun. You and I are close by. I’m in Salisbury, NC (home of TRD BTW). My neighbor works for TRD…..he loves the truck.
Do you belong or follow the FB group Queen City Mini Trucks? We have a great group that gets together at C&C and other venues when we can.
Thanks man. I like to stay busy and this absolutely keeps me going. A few mods to do this weekend. Ended up one off-road light short so it’ll get finished tomorrow.
A few more mods today: - Tonneau cover - Off-road lights (wiring took longer than I hoped, always does) - Pre-wired for lower/front light bar - New wheels installed (old ones for sale) - Interior rear completed
Nano Banana helped me create some images of my Hijet. Have some DTF and UV DTF’s coming from NinjaTransfers to make myself some merch. Not to sell, just to wear.
A few more additions…… - L track (used rivnuts and flush head anodized bolts) - Fire extinguisher (with quick release) + shovel - All new bed hardware/bolts - Bed chains
Busy morning as usual: - New door locks - Added off-road logo - body kit - covered the drip rail with door edging (cleaner look) - gazoo racing decals on wheels - Teq logo on rear window and tonneau cover
