Honda Acty Van Emissions & E10 Fuel

Hi, I just imported a '97 Acty van with the E07A engine. I'm in the process of registering it for DVLA road use but I don't know the emissions figures. I can register it without these; however, this means that it won't be ULEZ compliant and this will affect its sale value and usage costs.

Can anyone tell me/point me in the direction of emissions figures for the E07A engine (I think it's the carb version). I have tried Honda's homologation people but they won't provide homologation information other than in the country for which the vehicle was intended (i.e. Japan).

Also, does anyone know whether the E07A takes E10 fuel? I've fueled it with E5 to be on the safe side.

Any help you can provide will be much appreciated.

I am an experienced importer of JDM vehicles and use a variety of sources/platforms so if any Forum member needs help/advice with import and registration I'd be happy to help

    Thanks, Michael

If its 25 years old it doesn't need to meet any emissions rules in the USA but is a 97 25 years old yet? I guess it depends on how you determine the age of the vehicle or maybe I'm not understanding the issues. Whats DVLA and UTEZ? Is this in the US?

There should be a sticker which details CO and HC emissions under either the passenger, or driver seat.

Yes, am UK-based & ULEZ is Ultra Low Emission Zone (in theory) and the DVLA is the Driver & Vehicle Licencing Agency, which decides what and who can drive on UK roads.

If it is carburetted, you'd be better off avoiding ethanol (unless aged in charred oak barrels). It will oxidize and leave a tough gummy residue in the carb, tba necessarily must be open to the atmosphere. You can use it if the Acty is used every day or 2 as the fuel is refreshed on each drive.

But, .... I believe by '97 they were fuel injected, at least some were. FI doesn't suffer oxidation of the ethanol at any significant degree.
