Hi Guys, my Carry has been running great on the highway or anywhere I am on the throttle, higher rpm. Starts right up when cold. When I get to a stoplight or such it will idle down, run real rough, and then stall out. At this point it is difficult to start back up and requires heavy throttle to continue. Lots of black stuff spitting out the tailpipe.
Also, my distributor when timed at 7 btdc has very little adjustment left in the adjustment slot, not sure if thats normal.
I have read the "desperately seeking " thread, great info
I have replaced all vacuum lines, checked timing, replaced sparkplugs, Took the air supply thingy off and confirmed that when this is happening the butterfly is open, so that would appear correct.
Not sure where to look next, anybody with similar situations or opinions please.

    Thanks in advance

Have you adjusted your Base idle Screw? It is the phillips screw on the side of the carb facing the front of the truck. If everything is running good when you are staying on the throttle you just need to adjust this up so you have a higher RPM when sitting.

Try that and see if it works, might be an easy fix.
