So I followed a picture I saw on here and ordered some 90s Corolla coilovers. With a simple mod they work perfectly for S81P. They have tons of adjustment, and at a minimum give you a 1 or 2 of lift with no lift kit!

I got some adjustable damper version, and they are amazing offroad and on road.

The only mod was to drill the top mount for the right pattern. Luckily the ones I got the bearing block was a perfect fit for the strut mount! I just had to flip over the bearing block to the top and then use it to line the holes up. Drilled the three holes the same size as stock in pressed in the studs.

I used the stock upper bolt, and a camber adjustment bolt in the bottom. The whole pattern is slightly narrower than stock so the camber adjustment bolt on the bottom makes it fit.

    Test fit with no spring.

I would like this more than once if I could!

Where did you find these particular coilovers?

They are off eBay for a 90s Corolla.

Is that the rear corolla strut

Its the front coilover. The rear ones were longer, and didn't have camber plates ion the top. If you did a subframe drop, you could use the rear struts with the from brakets for a ~6inch lift.

Thanks interesting you say the rears may work for big lift. I have a complete parts truck accept the front diff and driveshaft. I keep looking at samurai axles to do a swap. Set the front end up like a coil front jeep suspension

Solid axle needs a entirely different kind of coilover. Jeeps and other coil spring solid axles generally use a separate spring and shock in the stock setup. There is a ton of fab work to convert independent to solid axle.

How is the ride with the new struts?

I am curious as the coil is much stiffer than a stock coil

  9. Does anybody know if the coilovers are the same for all Daihatsu Hijet models? I have the S110P

Used progressive springs from Gold star. Rides like a dream. I pulled one leaf out of the rear and added some air assist shocks.

    I've got those same ones!

Now I just need to find a home for the rear struts

    Same ones.
I too have an S110P, and installed the coilovers a while back.

Do you happen to have a product number to the progressive springs and air shocks? Does the rear end feel loose at all without the extra leaf? I’m looking to lower my hijet about 1-2ā€ all around.

What camber adjustment bolt was used? Part number or link appreciated! I just got my coilovers and I'm attempting the same mod.

"I just had to flip over the bearing block to the top and then use it to line the holes up."

Does anyone have a better description of this process?

Nicely done. Would it be possible to get the diameter and spacing on the bottom mounting holes or at least the measurements from the old OEM lower section? I'm wondering if these would also fit Suzuki as well.

Any reason you decided to use a press in stud vs just a regular bolt after you drilled new holes?

What are you referring to in your post?

If you are referring to the new coilovers, that is how they come

Yah, was just saying since you had to drill out new holes not sure why you needed to press in studs vs just using a bolt. But if you already had them or used the old ones cool either way. I would just have skipped the pressing step and just used a bolt.
