Four Speed versus Five Speed

My Hijet has a four speed manual transmission. My impression is that beginning isn 1994 or 1995 this truck got a five speed manual. Can anyone confirm this? I am trying to prove to Visa that my truck was built in 1993, not 1995, as the seller claimed. The seatbelt tag is dated 1993.

    Thanks,

sales in japan indicate 1995 comes with 4 speed

I have found many 1995 Hijets with 4 speed transmission being sold at auction in Japan.
So just the transmission being 4 or 5 speed will not determine the year.

OK, thanks. In a quick search of trucks for sale online, I found 1995 Hijets with five speed but only four speed for 1993s.

    1992's haved 4 speed and 5 speed

Looked at another listing...In this listing I was only looking at 1992 and newer. But as far back as 1992, 4 and 5 speed manual transmissions were available for the hijet.

OK, I struck out on that idea.

Nope. I sat in a 91? Hijet Jumbo that had the hi/lo box and 5 speed manual. It had the old squared off dashboard, just like yours.
