Why is my Hijet 1990 flooding itself when the motor is stopped? This happened once last year, and two times this past month. I would stop the motor and when I would try to start it again, it would be flooded. I would then have to remove plugs and dry them, then it would start right up. Any ideas?? Thanks
Generally a leaking float needle.....try some seafoam or Marvel Mystery Oil in the fuel system..if that's a no go you may need to yank the carb and clean/rebuild.
there are other possibilities (slow speed solenoid, accelerator pump linkage,) are both possible but doubtful...it's usually the float....Traxx's trick of sucking seafoam directly into the carb by disconnecting the fuel line and sucking in pure seafoam..then letting it sit a few hours...seems like the best way to quickly take care of a gummed up needle
