    Hello everyone,

Proud to say I'm now the owner of a really clean '93 Subaru Sambar!

    sambar.jpg

Current mods that I know about so far:
    • Hard Cargo Rack
    • Wheels & tires
    • Lift kit
    • Custom paint
    • Bed liner
    • LED bulbs and exterior light bars (top one is amber flashing w/ different patterns)
    • Speakers (blown) & weird DVD playing aftermarket receiver.
    • momo steering wheel
    • Seat covers
    Stuff I plan to do:
    • New speakers and Receiver
    • Keyless entry + alarm probably
    • Diode Dynamics/Gorilla Offroad LED 3rd brake light & bed light
    • Diode Dynamics/Gorilla Offroad LED reverse light
    • Mud flaps
    • Rust cleanup/prevention (I'm guessing this will be an ongoing task)
    • Window Tint
    • Eventually a rear towing hitch - to tow around a small utility trailer
    • Replace the faded red pool noodles on rack with black ones
    • Re-Upholster the interior & roof liner eventually
    • Might swap the steering wheel with the one on my old corolla
I've already had to hack at my garage door opening to get it to fit lol, but it was worth it.

Another mod to add, if your going to carry things in the bed, is some aluminum tread plate to line the bed sides and tail gate. The single wall bedsides tend to get dinged from teh inside if you carry things in the bed. (Lesson learned on my 77 Toyota Hilux). Adding the thin gauge tread plate gives you a protective metal layer to get dinged, with out ruining the exterior appearance. Your paint looks pretty pristine. And, I’m guessing you’d like to keep it that way as long as you can.

You might also consider one of these: https://www.amazon.com/Xprite-Strob...1616848207&sprefix=Xprite+rear,aps,215&sr=8-8 Instead of the separate brake and back up lights.

Thank you for the suggestions! I'd like to keep the paint/bodywork in as good condition for as I can, but with little kids that want to treat it like their power wheels lol I'm not sure how long that will be . I would like to source those rubber gate edge guards at the least, I found a couple on amazon Japan, but none that ship to US, so I'll keep looking
That is a cool led light bar, I hadn't consider going that route, but since it already has an amber flashing one facing forward, that would balance it out nicely. This is the one I am considering: https://www.gorillaoffroadcompany.c...ar-exterior-cab-bed-led-light-upgrade-ks3-ks4

Dude Jigs, thanks so much for the links! I'm glad to know there are options, if I can't source an OEM looking one.

They aren’t really OEM, but are a very common dealer/owner add on. I imagine you can buy them in the Japanese version of Chief/Chucks/O’Reilys.
