Trailered down to Norris Lake and rode four wheeler trails over to Coal Creek Rec Area last weekend. GF and I in the Hijet, buddy on new KLR650. Amazed at how well the little truck goes, have to take your time in places not to hit hard parts though. Before I go again I will have some driveline protection in place. A few vids and pics. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7sVqLJRUZ-Q http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_JOLKRqImY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UcbiILVwTZk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9R5EMf2kBJM
Nice pics..looks like a blast..what tire pressure were you running?...from the look of it you could have used a few less psi in them....wanna trade some of that nice dry weather for some snow ?...getting a little sick of winter this year
Last I checked there was 19 front/14 rear. Actually I felt a few times a little more pressure would have been good for more ground clearance, I can gain or loose an inch w/ tire pressure. For me lack of power/low range is usually an issue before traction. I'm very happy w/ the AllTrails, we had to drive a few miles on the road and they did great. Once you get up to speed they get quieter. I saw 43mph on gps on a short downhill run. We were lucky on the weather, had to keep reminding ourselves it was Feb. On the way home it dropped 30 deg from Lexington to Cincinnati, ouch. Bob
Oh the memories of riding the 4 wheeler trails. Maybe again one day.... The auto trans looks like it does real well. Thanks for sharing
Yeah, you should get you one of those japanese mini trucks... You'll need to carry a pole saw along when your truck is done. Bob
I'm happy w/ the auto. It puts the power down gently...good for traction. I'd like to repower this truck w/ a Honda GL1800 flat six though. Bob
LOL yeah! I needed one before, now I really do! Just measured my front wheel opening. Its 37 inches. If you get a chance measure yours, im curious as to how much I have lifted this thing. Its 7' to the tip top of the headache rack. I think im looking at roughly a total of 15 inches of lift over stock.
