Question for the assembled multitude: what should the fast (cold) idle RPM be? Since I acquired this truck the fast idle seemed high to me, but as the engine warmed it settled into a reasonable pitch. A month ago I installed a tach, and 1800 RPMs still strikes me as high, and settles to 7-800 when warm. I have not checked or replaced any hoses.
That sounds about right. Mine idles in the 1500-1600rpm range until it warms up when it settles down to mid 700s.
