Hello all, I've got a 1987-ish Minicab, 3G81 engine. I proactively decided to replace the fan belt, and it's been a bit more challenging than I thought it would be. Original Mitsubishi PN is MD313650, however I figured I would source something locally (I thought running down to NAPA would be easier than getting one from Japan or even G&R, but I'm second-guessing that now). Originally tried a Goodyear 3L330, but it didn't look like it fit in the pulleys too well (too narrow), and the length was a little longer than it should have been... belt was slipping and burning. So, I tried a wider belt (Gates 7320 XL)... length is correct and it's supposedly the correct European belt width of 10mm, but it has a high pitched noise that accompanies it (almost sounds like a supercharger)... this engine has enough other noises, I don't need one more. Am I on a fools errand, and I should just order the right belt from G&R, or is there a different type that I should look into that I can source locally? Thanks!
