Some say 5 Speed tranny are less powerful than 4 Speed ones because the gears have become widend. Is this true? Tried my friends 5 sp and my 4 sp there seems to be a liiiiiiiiitle different starting off as we tested it with 200 kilos of sand as load. Any idea of the gearing ratio for these trannys? Thanks! Welcome to the addiction. I think the main difference in the two will be at the extremes.The low low gear in the 5 speed is lower in 4x4 activity and the 5th gear is higher for highway driving. There are arguments for both but I think most of the guys here prefer the 5 speeds.
