DD51T handbrake lever?

The pushbutton on my '96 Carry's handbrake handle disappeared inside the lever yesterday. I can still actuate by using my off-hand to poke a finger in, but that's obviously not the best.

I haven't made any concerted effort to repair yet, but expect it may need to be replaced. Any leads on a suitable alternative or OEM stateside?

The link inside may have become disconnected, take it apart and inspect. It is a simple mechanism.

If you do end up needing parts, G&R has been my go-to. Even stuff not on their website, I'ved called them up and asked, and they've found what I needed.

Turns out it wasn't the button going down, it was the plastic handle sliding up. Contemplating between a dab of epoxy or putting a roll pin through it to secure.
