Coolant pipe access

I am trying to replace the coolant pipes under my 1990 Sambar Try van (KV4 EN07Y supercharged). It has become a nightmare because it appears everything forward of the engine was installed on the frame before the body was dropped down on it. Many bolt heads point up towards the floorboards. I am in the middle of dropping my gas tank to get at a bolt holding a cross bar keeping the coolant pipes in. Has anybody tried lifting the van body for access to this sort of work? Any other tips?
