Common tire conversions

Discussion in 'General Truck Info' started by SteamPunkProgrammer, Oct 18, 2024.

  1. Hello! Ill start this with I know almost nothing about tires, but I've found it nearly impossible to find 13 inch rims that will fit on my U42T, I'd like to just have a slightly bigger tire or something a bit more common I can covert to with a hub adaptor or something. I would love to hear some suggestions because I have had almost no luck finding anything but trailer tires in the right size, which I obviously don't want to use. I'm in NC for reference!

I don't know what your wheel bolt dimensions need to be but I'm sure there some wheels in a pull apart you can find that are 13 in. I found a 13 in replacement for my 12 in spare donut with the 4x100 bolt holes from a Honda sedan for like $20.00. My van came with 13 in wheels from a different JDM van.

  3. My bolt dimensions are 4x114.3 I noticed 4x100 are more common and I can get a hub adaptor for that. That might be my plan.

  4. yea, so I ended up getting a 4x114.3 to 4x100 hub adapter, ordered some high load cap trailer rims and some LT tires to go on them. wish me luck, mostly educated guesses here!

Welcome to the forum. Where in NC are you located? I'm running Geo Metro rims on my Suzuki.

  6. I'm in the durham area, I tried searching around for the geo metro rims but couldnt find a good source, seems junkyards dont really keep rims anymore which is odd to me. but from what I understand the rims being for a trailer doesnt really matter, just the tires need to be for a light truck to get the correct handling.

Are you going to use your truck primarily on road or off road? Trailer rims might fit but they don't have the correct offset to be used on the truck. I called junkyards all over eastern NC for Geo Metro rims, then took a day off for a long road trip to get the rims from two different junkyards. I'm running Forceum tires on my Suzuki. They work great offroad. I've driven only a few miles on pavement and they did well there, too.
