Climate Control Backlight?

    Hello All,
I have a 96 Hijet S110. The backlight for the climate controls does not turn on when I activate the headlamps, although the backlamp for the radio does.
    1. Does the climate control module have a backlight?
    2. If so, how do I replace it? I have removed the trim panel and unscrewed the climate control module. Space is tight, so before I go any further, I'd like to figure if this is a fool's errand.
Thanks for all the input; let me know if you have any questions,
    John

To put a button in this thread:
    1. It does have a backlight.
    2. To replace it, I took a pair of crooked needle nose pliers to wiggle out the light bulb, which had a green and a green-white wires running to it. Curiously, a teal plastic sleeve fit over the bulb for coloring. I took off the sleeve, put it on the new bulb, installed the bulb, and wiggled it back into place.
All in all, a bit awkward job for a big dude, but no part of the job was impossible.

    PS - the replacement bulb is a Sylvania 2721 (12v 1.2w) from O'Reilly's.

I think the teal cover is a Japan thing.
    JDM Land Cruisers have them.
