Hey Everybody, Is there anyway to get the year from the chassis number? Truck does not have seatbelt tags.

That number isnt coming up, however DD51T-302056 comes up as:

Manufacture date is November 1993 Year (1993.11)

It is dd51b, it is a dump bed. I was told it was a 97. But the seatbelt tag was gone(removed). So it wouldn't surprise me if it was a 1993. Kinda like trading horse's if you know what I mean.

Well, you should be able to get an idea based on the control arms. They changed in about 95.

There are big numbers/letters stamped in the control arm.

The 92-94 will have something like 50FL or 50FR. The 95-98 will have 50FAL or 50FAR. (The extra A)

So, if your control arms are the 92-94 type then its a good chance it is a 93.

Oh, and how many digits on the ODO? The 92-early 93's only had 5 digits, where late 93 and up had 6 digits.

You nailed it on the late 93, I checked and the control arms have 50FL and the odometer is 6 digits and the 10ths. Good to know for parts. Bad or good it's titled as a 1997. Appreciate your time on this. It's a good running truck and I like the dump bed. Sure looks like he was trying to hide the year with the seat belt tag being removed. I paid 5700.00 which at the time was not too bad I guess. Thanks again. Terry

Nice add Garic, Had to change my chassis # on the search engine though. Mine is stamped DD51B (dump bed) had to enter it as a DD51T. Worked great though came up as a 93 as minibrutes had helped me find out. Of course like you I thought I had bought a 97. Just like horse trading, you better get informed before you buy. Got a much better deal on my second truck.

    It's shame it doesn't work Honda's older than 1999.

Hi, 8 years later I have a similar question; I am trying to find out the month of manufacture for a DD51B (dump), I tried the month calculator posted above but it does not give any info for the DD51B, when I put it in as DD51T I do get November 1993 similar to smoothstroke. It does have 6 digit odometer.
Can someone verify if this an accurate way to find the month and year? or is there another way other than seatbelt?
I could not get the date from Suzuki Japan.
Also Honda Japan will give you the date of manufacture of pre-1999 vehicles if you email / contact them.

Try inputting your VIN on this site. It worked for my Subaru.

Hey Botl01 thanks I gave it a try but it came back with "nothing found". It did work if I changed the B to a T but I am unsure if this is correct.
If it is correct then I know it is Nov 1993, the description under the T looks like the same truck...
