Catalytic Converter

    Hi all. I’ve had a rattle that I have narrowed down to the catalytic converter. Has anyone replaced theirs? I’ve seen used ones for sale in Japan but with shipping, it starts to get expensive.
    I have a 1998 hijet.
    Any suggestions?

    Can you remove it and put straight pipe in its place?
    Does it need to pass emissions tests?

    I cut mine off and hollowed it out. Good as new!

    Did you have to ground the O2 sensor?

    Just unplug the sensor and attach (lead wire) it to a ground point. There are a couple frame screws right next to it that will work perfectly
