Hey everyone; Still in need of any info about caliper rebuild kits. G&R Imports said they may have a used caliper available. Wondering if there is other alternatives. Have 1994 Mits. u15t lefty, looking for rubber seals, o-rings ,etc. Thanks for info. Vettman
Vetteman, Try a 84-87 Mitsubishi Galant caliper. The Galant and your truck take the same brake pad so I am guessing they will take the same caliper. Just a guess. Chad www.kingcobraparts.com
Chad, Welcome back, wondered if you took a 10 month "walk-about"???? Anyway back OT (and prob preaching to the choir here) But, if the parts from a Mits Galant will work for Vettman's brakes, you can use the parts from a Dodge Colt, Plymouth Champ, or Plymouth Cricket (in Canada). These are all the same imported/rebadged Mits Galants..........later, slim
Vettman, dont forget that your mini has been americanized... you have some support at the mitsubishi dealerships still. Try this (MB366526 SEAL KIT,FR BRAKE CALIPER) and here's a link to american part #'s for the lefty. http://www.m-klub.ru/_pages/mitsubi...9PTg3MDYxfHxpbWc9PTQxMTAwMTAtNTAwMDAxLmpwZw== You may be able to cross some of those #'s at another parts store.
caliper Hey Dan; Great web sight. Thanks. This will make things a whole lot easier. Thanks again , have a great day. Vettman.
Just joined the site but have been readin all the info for a year or better, this site is full useful info. Anyway Vettman could you update us on what you found out about your brake problem. I have a '90 minicab and the front brake pads cross reference to a '84-'87 galant also, Need to put on new pads and would like to rebuild calipers as well Thanks Yote223
Hey Yot e223, Sorry i haven,t got back about this. The Gallant caliper i ordered from Auto Zone was not a match. It was 85-87 year and the distance from the center of the slides was greater then mine. The caliper was also wider.I do have a lefty with 12" stock rims maybe thats why it,s different. I tried to order repair kit from mini truck supply and they could not come up with anything for my serial numbers. I now have ordered repair kits from a supplier that fit different year Gallants hoping one will work for my application. Thanks to all who have tried to help. Vettman
check out the parts site in an above post and take the part # to the mitsubishi automotive dealership. kits are still available for less than $30. I just checked this out on the mitsubishiparts.com site... Select items to add to your cart Part Number: mb366526 List Price$28.08 Core Price$0.00 Your Price$20.22 SEAL KIT,F/BRK CA
Beat me to the punch on that one I actually looked up the calipers, as well. They are available if you got the coin $200.00 each - got a buddy at parts house trying to cross reference for aftermarket Let you know if I get a match
Hey , Took dan's advice and did order repair kit #mb366526 from on line mits parts store. The others i took chance on cost $6.56 but did not work. Will up date when i get them. Dan's experience is most likley correct and i should have done this to begin with. Later Vettman
Hey Dan, Ordered part #mb366526 repair kit from MitsubishiOnlineParts .com and was told it is discontinued. Did you have another souce for me to try. The Gallant kits i purchased to try to see if they fit , well the boot or seal seems to fit but the o-ring for the piston is to big. My piston o.d. measures right at 2". Any other help would be appreciated. Thanks vettman
Just a successful update on my caliper. If you look at previous posts, G&R did send me a used caliper left steer & right steer trucks are the same application, just specify what side you need. The caliper would still not release as my original would not. After trying the numerous options i decided to take apart the G&R caliper. Rust due to who knows what, was present. Cleaned everything up, put it all back together and it works fine. Maybe could have done that to previous caliper. Dans Mitsy part list, numbers & illustrations are excellent but most are no longer available. I thank all that gave input to my situation. My truck and parts seem to be in the minority being left hand steer so i appreciate all that have contributed to it's up and running condition, as of right now. Thanks Vettman
