Hello yall, it is great to finally get to write this post. I live in Yukon Oklahoma (west of OKC) and I have been a reader for some time now but waited to post untl I got my truck. So here goes. I looked for a truck for about a year and had all but given up on finding the right one until this one came along. It is a '92 Scrum (Mazda) with axle locks. It has 144 Kilometers on it which is fine by me. I will be transforming it into the hunting rig I have always wanted ASAP. Mods will include the usual (lift 2", Tires-not sure on size or brand just yet, Camo, bumpers front and rear with recievers in both for winch and additional lights up front and on top. Pretty excited though. Can't wait to get started. I plan to document all improvements as they take place and I hope all yall with more experience will not hesitate to chime in with your imput. curious what the plan is for "additional lights up front and on top". Now the on top part is pretty simple...but where up front are you adding lights?
I am either going to buy a prefab brush guard (if one can be found that I like) or I will build one myself. I plan on putting at least two lights to the sides of my winch. The reason for them is to better see all the little piggies here in OK. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out. I will post pics when it is completed. Thanks for asking.
nice to see someone else from OK on here. i would def reccomend staying at or under a 23" tire since after Nov 1st im sure your truck will see street duty. i put the tires and wheels off my gf 99 escort on mine to see how it would drive. they are right at 23" as 185-65-14. rode and drove a lot better but sucked a lot of power. so i ordered a set of alum 14 and will prob go witha a 175-65-14 if i cant find some 165 to buy. where do you pig hunt? gun or with dogs? i should be going hunting tonight, im a dog and knife man myself. didnt catch anything last weekend so im due for one this weekend.
