So, I recently acquired a 1988 Daihatsu Hijet s80 lp Jumbo, left hand drive, off-road only. I’m new to this website and to mini trucks so apologies in advance for any mistakes. The first thing I wanted to do was change the battery because it was already going bad. While putting the new one on, I notice one of the smaller negative terminal cables disconnected from the other end and was wondering if anyone here had any clue as to what it might be connected to. The other small cable seemingly connects to the starter solenoid, after doing some research. I could be wrong, but I do know that the small cable that DOES connect to something, is connected to the starter, and it is closer to the top. I just wanted some confirmation that that cable connects to the positive terminal, and most importantly, where the disconnect cable goes to. Thank you.
I’ve added the picture of the battery terminals and color coded them. The one circled in red is the ground, as it connects to the body of the car. The one circled in blue is presumably the positive. The one circled in green runs back to the top of the starter, would like to get confirmation on which terminal that connects to. The one circled in purple is that disconnected wire, just looking to see where that would run back to.
hopefully someone with a 1988 Daihatsu Hijet s80 lp Jumbo can chime in, my 2021 Hijet does not have that
