Well im getting all packed to make a run up the west side of the bradshaw mountains here in AZ. Im going with a group of A/UTV guys i met while searching for parts, tires, etc. for the truck. The tip top mine run (illustrated in a previous post) is on the southeast side, im now running the southwest side, but this time all the way up to 7000ft ish.

Ill be sure to take pictures of the adventure and post them. Ill get a chance to try out my new skid plate i installed this week.

If anyone is from the area, Crown King is hosting the Local Fire departments fund raising event up there that weekend, cookout, beer, social kind of a gig.

Here is the breif blip published about it on the CK website:

Is the trail run an organized event or just a group of guys getting together? Take lots of pics, your last pics were way cool.

And take some pics of your skid plate and how you attached it!

    Have fun!

Im tagging along on an organized event from a local ATV shop here in town. Ill be sure to take pictures and post them when i get back. I'll see if i can get some shots of the skid plate in action =D

I owe Ironraven some pics of the skid too. Making it was EASY! Mouting it and getting everything lined up... was a SOB! all the while i was being eaten by ants. I had to remove both engine and tranny mounts and weld some shtuff to them including bolts ect. But more on that later! This is an adventure thread!

I would have had more pictures, but Dakota (my dog) didnt know how to work the camera. But he was happy to ride along anyways and I was very happy to have him along. I may be able to get some from the atv group i went with later...

The Mini truck did great! Plenty of traction. Locker was worth gold on this trip. Ground clearence at about 9.5" (aired down). Belly pan got plenty of action. I did bash into the side of the mountain once and knocked some basketball boulders loose which i had to remove from the road to get by. But didnt fair really any damage from it to speak of (other than exagerating an already existing dent in my passenger side fender). The main problem i was having was Power! UGh! The hard stuff was up at about 5000 - 7000ft and im carburated! But i got lots of help from the group i went with. They did help push me over one ledge that i haddent the power to get up.

    Nice tree along the way

a closer look at those rocks!

One of the ATV guys rolled his junk on that hill! I got 3 wheels in the air, and luckilly had some spectators run up and grab the front end to put my front wheels back on the ground... I may have gone over if i didnt have the help

The fish eye lense doesnt really do some of these hills justice. They were Hell'a steep i sweare. Ask anyone who has run crown king lately. This is the same spot as that last picture i took: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1II1BGVhgkQ

I found another video of a place were i ran mr truck into the wall and knocked the rocks down

This was the classic termed "back way to crown king" I ran it in a jeep liberty in 2008 and my how this trail has gotten worse since then! A great trip back in time as well as some great heavy duty 4 wheel drivin! Past by many many old mines, ghost towns, and rusted out leftover what nots. Passing through Humbug, Fort Misery, Oro Belle, then on to crown king.

this Bar was really cool (historic). It used to be in oro bell, and before that alexandrea (another mining down near mayer i think...) Lots of pictures on the walls of the old days.

I left Crown King the easy way (out the front) through Cleater, Bumble bee, Black canyon City, then home.

It looks like a ton of fun, and I think its cool that there was a mix of trucks, jeeps, atv's, utv's, motorcycles and of course mini trucks!

Weather looked liked it cooperated well too!

    Cool, I like them! More!

Does your dog actually fit on the passenger seat or get to ride in the back with the gear? Looks like only half would fit on the seat, the other half slipping off to the floor, or out the window :D.

i stuffed my knapp sack of cloths, sleeping bag, and pillow in the boot of the passenger seat so he could lay down in the passenger seat and now slip and slide around.
