Auto to manual transmission swap

Discussion in 'Trade-A-Part' started by Steven Stewart, Sep 23, 2023.

  1. I've got a 1995 hijet 110 with an auto transmission. I use my van hunting with dogs so I do some serious off roading. I like my van and don't wanna sell to buy another then have to do all the upgrades. Question is. Has anyone that did a auto to manual swap that could give me some tips and what all components would be needed?

Is anyone in the market for an auto transmission?

probably would help to put it in the right thread. but doing a conversion sounds like a pretty big project when parts are kinda hard to come by. you'd basically need transmission, flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, pilot bearing, throw out bearing, pcm from the manual van, don't know for sure whether you'd need the gauge cluster from the manual as well, don't know if the driveshafts are different from the auto and manual ones.... you'd need the pedal assembly, the shifter assembly, any related bushings.

moving over upgrades probably would turn out to be less work than finding these parts....unless you pickup a donor hijet.

  3. Thank you for the info. That's the kinda info I was looking for... note the bottom of my question. " anyone looking for an auto transmission " it's also posted on the other side if I did it right.
