dont wanna have to mess with all that. the 80hp version would be more than enough.

If you or anyone is interested... I have an Artic Cat 660T long block I purchased that I can not use. Bought the long block from a snow machine shop on Ebay. It was sold as a runner not a "core". My 1991 DD51-T uses the F6A so I have made other plans... going to use the complete drivetrain from a wrecked Suzuki X90. If anyone is interested in the long block let me know. I also have a complete gasket kit that I purchased and don't need. Thnx

could you not just swap ecu from t660 to the carry engine? for the added horsepower

The truck has a carb and NO ECU

But I was talking about the fuel injected engine

That would be 99 and up.
Check the HP on that engine compared to the 40 hp of the 91.
Don't get me wrong my 91 is probably as close to that 80 hp as it can get without me porting the head!

But I am interested in that drive train.
I don't know yet but I think I broke my front dif!

I have a 2003 Suzuki DA63T mini truck. I really like the little truck and enjoy riding around in it. It has the standard K6A engine (no turbo). It runs extremely well and truck overall is in very good condition. The only problem I have is the standard 47 hp struggles up hills on the highway. This gets the drivers behind me aggravated because sometimes the truck slows well below the speed limit by the top of the hill. I’m looking for the easiest way to improve the HP. If I can get in the 60+ hp range I think it would work for me. I have been unable to find good info and or mods on the internet, or at least what I trust. Any help, advice, or examples to get the increased hp would be greatly appreciated. I’m not a gearhead/motorhead so the least mechanic work is best.

In 99 they went to EFI and are rated a 80 hp Not 47
I have the same issue and mine tops out a 60mph
These trucks are NOT meant to be on the road, off road and in town!

Best thing you can do is keep the stock tires or something similar. Some people claimed improvements by removing the catalytic converter, beside that I dont know of any easy HP to claim.

So assuming I want to do a non-turbo swap, this is all I should need to do? 80hp would be PERFECT for what I am using my truck for.

The K660 is a timing chain motor, stock in the minis comes with like 48 HP
The Stock K660 in the Artic Cat is 80 without turbo and 124 with!
My plan is to swap out the ECU and Injectors!
My 91 with a full 2" exhaust and header I made with the 33mm Mikuni is pushing well over 50 HP LOL
And I am sure with the 40mm and some head work I bet I can get 60HP!

Yes, correct. I have a k6a, I am just checking what I need to swap to make it bolt in and run in the truck.

OK do you have an 01
Because it is NOT a direct replacement for the F660

I'm confused. I just said I have a K6A, I am asking what I need switch specifically when ISO an artic cat t660. I've already implied what you are suggesting...

I have a 99 suzuki carry 4x4 dump.. I live in the mountains of E TN and it STRUGGLES up hill.. I definitely need more HP.
I'm having a header made with a different resonator and Muffler hope that helps some. I'm hoping you guys are moving in that same direction and we can make something happen!,

Opening up the exhaust and either rejetting the OEM carb or getting a different carb will probably solve a lot of your issues. I did that with the van and it easily maintains speed up most hills now. That said, you being in the TN mtns, some hills may always be an issue.

I have EFI, I'm having a header made and I'll get a bigger air box, i was looking at some bigger injectors. But im not sure how much that will improve. Anything is better than nothing!

I made a header from my OEM and a straight 2" exhaust with turbo muffler
I have the Mikuni 33 carb
And I have a hard time getting over 70 LOL
I have lots of power down low
I had More top end with the CV40
And I am running 25" tires

I understand that the K660 came out in 99, that is the chain driven EFI motor (50hp?)
Cat with it's exhaust and EFI mapping made 80hp and 120 with turbo
I feel that with the Cat ECU and maybe injectors and open the exhaust
We should be able to get 75 hp from our trucks?

I'm changing header, air box, and i just bought some 300cc injectors and hopefully i can get one more squirrels worth of hp. Then I'll have to figure something else out. I looked today and couldn't find that cat motor. I'll keep looking through.

I wouldn't think it would be that difficult to just swap a K6a engine.. That would be alot more hp. You can buy a used WHOLE engine for 2k

    The motor is the same
It's the ECU and injectors you need
you missed the best chance to buy one
