Hi all, I recently bought a JDM 1993 Toyota LiteAce pick up. It is a low milage former Japanese “firetruck”. It currently has 17,000 km which is roughly 11,000 miles. It has a carbureted 1.8 liter 2Y gasoline engine, 4x4, and a 5 speed on the column. I have some photos in my introduction post. I am trying to figure out the carb. When I try to start it after it is warmed up, it cranks and cranks and cranks for up to 10 seconds before it catches. Doesn’t seem to matter if you floor it, pump it first, or do nothing but turn the key. If it is a short time, like getting gas, it fires right back up, but if it sits anywhere from 5 mins to an hour, it acts like I described above. I know my engine is in some Hilux’s of the same time frame. Anyone have thoughts, or who I might contact?? Thank you!
