I have found the easiest way to locate an oil leak, is to use dye and black light. Those kits are pretty cheap.
Keeps the guessing down to a bare minimum...........;)

typically when you get an oil leak it tends to get all over the place. sometimes you can just spray it all down with brake cleaner or something, and run it a bit and keep your eyes open. i've never used that fancy dye and light stuff so i have no input there... i just know the old fashioned way.

I use the old brake clean and recheck from time to time....but working other peoples stuff (lots of it at times!!) I have to go with what is fast and works every time. I have found that the old "clean and look" method works if it is a medium sized leak. If it is a smaller "seep"...the ones that can drive you CrAzY trying to locate, or a LARGE leak that blows oil EVERYWHERE before you get a chance to locate it, then your better off using a dye. It will leave a trail a BLIND man can find. $0.02

    thanks for all the replies
and glad to see peolpe here really trying to help out
    My issue was two fold
the oil leak turned out to be a seep comming from the Valve cover and i had just installed a new water pump that turned out to be defective from the manufacturer(leaked thru the main)
Prob is solved truck running good
I work on these 660 motors exclusively now
so i will be around to help out and seek answers as much as possible
and hope to find many boards that are kei related
    Thanx again

Defective water pump? Hmmm... we had one of those lately too.

Could have been installer error as well eh?

    Anything is possible :sly:
But the leak was from the Center bearing and not around the sides
and also installing another new one did fix the problem!:D
    oops eh!

mine has so many oil leaks I think the only fix would be to pull the engine out and redo everything

its nothing major, but it ticks me off with the mess it makes on the floor of my garage, grr
