I have a 96 Every Joypop turbo and was wondering if anyone knows if you can add a blow off valve to it? Looking through the parts manual, it doesn't look like that is something that comes stock. Has anyone added one to their van or truck?
Just in general what determines if you can use a BOV and vent to atmosphere is the EFI system. If you have a MAF that is metered air you are now venting and it could cause weird rich conditions. If this is speed density then it usually has less issues. I have been tuning cars since 1996 and it always cause transient fuel issues but every efi handles it differently, some stall some blow black, some loss no drivability.
Thats really helpful, i appreciate the feedback. I thought it may be a fun adder to make the turbo sound more "Turbo" but it seems like it likely would do more harm than good.
