I’ve got a coolant leak behind the intake manifold on my 1996 Suzuki Every DE51V. From what I can see, it looks like it’s leaking right at a hose clamp, but access is terrible and I can’t fully confirm without tearing things apart. I’ve gone through the manuals I have, but I’m still not 100% sure what all is back there besides the hose and clamp. I plan on fixing it myself (even though it looks like a pain). My current plan is: • Replace the hose • Replace the clamp • Replace the intake manifold gasket, since it looks like the manifold will have to come off anyway Before I dive in, I wanted to ask: • Is there anything else in that area that commonly fails and should be replaced while I’m in there? • Any coolant fittings, pipes, O-rings, sensors, or hidden hoses I should be aware of? • Has anyone done this job and have tips, tricks, or “do this while you’re there” advice? I’ve searched everywhere and can’t find any videos or write-ups specific to this repair, so links or photos would be hugely appreciated. I found a youtube video in another language where someone takes off the manifold and exposes the part, but I dont know what they are saying or I can barely get a good look at the part. I took a shot of the video, but I'm still able to identify the part(photo with yellow circle). Thanks in advance — trying to avoid doing this job twice
Do you have a turbo? Doesn't look like my intake manifold at all. On my van I could get to all the coolant hoses without removing the intake. If its a turbo then there may be a bunch more plumbing maybe.
I don't believe it is. I too started questioning if it was a turbo or not. I looked at all the manuals and based on what I see I don't believe it is. Mine is fuel injected. Is yours fuel injected?
