Hello All, I have an Acty that won't kick up enough when cold started and idles poorly/stumbles until it's warmed up then it idles better and higher instead of idling down after warm up. It's still not perfect when fully warm but it is significantly better and doesn't stall anymore. It's hard to decide how to adjust the idle because if I adjust down when it's hot then it will stall when cold so I am having to have it adjust higher when hot in order to keep it from stalling while cold. I have been working on this one for several weeks. I've had the carb off, cleaned, changed the diaphragm on the bottom(was leaking gas into the vacuum lines), changed both solenoids on the side of the carb, new ignition module, new plugs and wires, new rotor and cap. It used to idle up on a cold start but since the last time I had it off, it now runs crappy initially then slowly idles down as the water choke warms up then sometimes stalls. Once it is fully warm it will actually idle back up to where it initially idled at first start. I'm running out of ideas. I think there is something going on with the choke circuit. It seems like it might use a different jet on the cold start then switch to the idle jet after warm? Or something of that nature. Just the change that happens once fully warm tells me the cold running choke circuit (or whatever you call it) is the problem. I can't find the information that describes how that part of the carb works. If someone knows more about these carbs beyond the typical failing parts that I've replaced and cleaning them I would appreciate any help I can get as I'm pretty much out of ideas. I have also considered the gunked up fuel system clogging something theory. I have filled the tank a few times and ran a can of fuel system cleaner through it. It drives perfect while shifting through the gears and really only has a problem with the cold start idle until it's warm. I have also adjusted the small set screw for the water choke to allow it to open the butterfly valve a little more initially but that feels like a band aid and not the real solution.
