I just picked up my 93' Hijet, 72K on the clock and import paperwork "confirms". Should I do the timing belt soon? How long is safe to run with stock belt? I assume these are interference engines being OHC? I know nothing so any advice is welcomed and appreciated!
I like Limestones common sense advice to me earlier when I asked the same question for a 18000 Mike 96 hijet motor recently purchased...." 18000 miles but 26 years old. Be safe, REPLACE IT!
Normally... when a timing belt is replaced, the shop will attach to the housing a sticker with date of replacement and Km. If not 100% sure, replace it, some links inside https://minitrucktalk.com/threads/replacing-timing-belt-on-210-series.18786/ https://minitruckpart.com/hijet-belts-and-hoses
