anything that stops engine vibration is good for the engine...it last longer. the 1500cc 4 stroke 3 cylinder seadoo has the counter balancer for the engine first. with the counter balance, the engines mass would tear it apart at the rpm's it has to run. :)

    Hi Little foot
when you are at 4700rpm in 4th i think the sound you are hearing is the engine lugging. you should have the shift points on your speedo "1, 2, 3", these numbers are at the speed you should be shifting out of ie; if you are in 1st you go until you get to the "1" on your speedo then shift to 2nd and so on. these engines only have about 42 hp, its made up high, so to smooth out your engine, give it a little more rpm before shifting, i shift at about 5500 to 6000rpm which is just below the shift points. you don't need to go all the way to the shift point so do some tests to see how smooth the engine is before you shift and how well it pulls out of the next gear, when you find that you will have your best shift speed/rpm.
    hope this helps

Not lugging at 70Kms. I shift to high gear at 55 and then as speed increases and goes through 70 Kms it gets very noisy(boomy in the cab) and then goes right back quiet after 73 KMs. My Suki is plenty with torque and I have no problem reaching 110 on speedo with 14 inch rims and 23.5" diametre.

    Lugging at 4700 rpm .

Maybe if it is a 1cc RC 2 stroke motor we are talking about here. I'm at a loss.

I know it lugs at 40Kms/Hr on High but not at 70....I've hit 118 on GPS. Don't like to be in the truck at that speed and I won't do it again but I needed to know if the little engine could. 77777.7 Kms or 48370 miles

Today was a warm day in Moncton +26C. My Carry performed brilliantly on Highway. Reached 113 Kms/H on speedo. This vehicle never ceases to amaze me. I figure 7500RPM. But I need a radiator, temperature gauge rises as fast as speedometer.

Littlefoot..my daihatsu was uncomfortably loud in that range till I changed the muffler...externally my original muffler looked fine but inside the baffles were all corroded and rattling...it was kinda like the 40hz hum you get with a sunroof open and at certain speeds your head throbs from the wind pressure:p

Swapping out my muffler soon, crunchy frog runs awesome... no issues except soft trans mounts. Switched back to my 12s from my 13s... 13s too tall made hwy not so cool couldn't hold speed on big hills, with the 12s no sweat holding more than rated road speed.

Did a little trail run tonight, just off trails no serious skulkin around truck is running just great.... might take it on a little trip across a couple of provinces and go visit my folks in Ontario :)

    French Frog

And don't call Acadians "French Frogs". OK now on to serious stuff, I have no problem with top end power even with my 14". I hit 118 Kms/h today on GPS 110 on speedo. My problem is keeping it cool. Today at 90 I had to turn heater wide open and windows down to keep it cool. I'm going to order a new radiator as soon as they have it in stock.:pop:

HMM I was wondering about putting 14" or 15" rims on!
    What muffler are you using?
What does the Cat look like on my MDB51?
Has anyone done anything with the Arctic Cat Suzuki 660?
