    Howdy,
I have a 1991 Mitsubishi U42t that won’t start. it’ll turn over until the battery dies, or forever on a charger.

    So far:
    Oil change and new filter,
    Plugs cleaned,
New fuel filter, fuel is moving through the lines before and after the carb
    New air filter
    No blown fuses

All the wires I can see on the coil are good
I’ve got the English version manual
As y’all know, it’s more a how than why
    Manual.

    I’m stumped.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers!

Have you checked for spark at the plugs?

    It’s sparking.
    More orange than blue.

    funny thing is,
    when it first died,
I shook the car in frustration and it started,
Turned it off, changed the oil, and it started again and ran till I got to work.

then would start at the end of the day.

Wouldn’t start at the end of the day

I know many here would shake their heads at this, but maybe try spraying a bit of starting fluid down the carb while your cranking it. - - If it starts, then you know you have a fuel problem. If not - it's ignition.

    Ok.
    I’m still learning this system,
My carburetor experience is from a Ford 351w.
Is it just pull the rubber boot coming from the air filter and spray the choke flap,
Or is there a better method?

I'd try spraying under the choke flap - - but don't confuse me with an expert.

    No worries,
    I appreciate the help.
    Like I said, I’m stumped.

did the thing with the spray can
Got some mist out the port above the carb
Some fuel in the mist too.

    No start.

Air filter boot back on and checked the plugs.
    Still sparking orangey
Carbon buildup on the plugs since I last wire brushed them with gum out.

Did the grandpa trick and sprayed a little starter fluid down plug 1 before turning it over again.

    nothing.

That's a tough one. - - Did it ever run reliably?

Solid daily driver with some medium trips for about nine months.

I’m going to test the coil next.

    Ok.
Now I’m looking for a good source for parts.
    Specifically the ignition coil.
Yokohama motors is about $170 plus shipping.

there’s gotta be something closer and less expensive.
