550 to 660, what year

What year did they increase the engine from 550 to 660cc?

A buddy of mine said he saw a 89 Carry advertised with having a 660 motor in it and I'm trying to find out what year they made the switch.

Most of the trucks with 660 have been 1990, but i wouldn't be surprised to see one in 1989. They gotta test them sometime before the roll them out.
