Thank you much for the links. I tested both vacuum switches on the front and they operate just fine. I visually see the transmission engaging every time. This leads me to believe that it is the 4wd button. I'm going to pull it and clean it in a day or so and see if it cures the problem.
Did you ever find the cure for this problem? I have taken the button apart but did not see any problem there on mine. Haven't change vacuum lines yet. Just been leaving it in 4 wheel drive. Don't want to chance needing 4x4 and it not engaging.
