    Hi folks,
I'm looking at a 1990 Subaru Sambar. It has a 4 cylinder engine. All the other Japanese mini's I've looked at have 3 cylinder engines. I'm wondering if anyone could give me some feedback and opinions, good or bad, on the 4 cylinder.
    Any information is appreciated.

I am also looking at the Sambar specifically for the 4 cylinder engine. I might be wrong but the way I look at it is that an engine of the same displacement with 4 cylinders has less stress on each component of the engine, bearings rods pistons etc. If you put the same H.P. through 3 cylinders it has to endure more internal stresses than one with 4. I am not sure of this but I would assume that the 4 cyl engine would have more main bearings than the 3 cyl. call me crazy but that is what I think.
