Guy's GOOD NEWS... I have a 2001 Daihatsu Hi Jet S210P.. The other day I went to Start the mini-truck and it would not start over, it would just crank and crank and never fire over... I checked the fuses and relays and all were fine.. I pulled the air-box off and sprayed some starting fluid and fired right up ran for a few seconds and died.. This led me to believe it was the fuel pump.. I dropped the Tank, pulled the fuel pump out... I checked with every-online Japanese mini-truck parts seller and was SHOCKED they all wanted over $300 for just the FUEL PUMP alone. I found a seller on EBAY Selling the entire system (Pump and enclosure) for $365 Shipped.... I found a thread on here that stated go match it up to a Toyota Scion so I went to the local Auto-Store and they wanted over $175 plus tax... Finally after searching THICK and THIN I was able to match the FUEL PUMP up to the same one that is in a TOYOTA COROLLA 1993-2006 Fuel Pump, I checked on EBAY and found them for $60 NO TAX Free Shipping Brand NEW in box.. I dropped the new Fuel Pump in Today, put everything back on and Turned the Key and it FIRED RIGHT UP!!! Drove it around the neighborhood today for about 45 minutes and NO ISSUES what so ever.. So to make a LONG STORY SHORT, do not PAY those outrageous prices they are trying to get online just search for a TOYOTA COROLLA 1993-2006 BOSCH Fuel Pump on EBAY.. Hope this Helps Someone else with the same situation I was in...
purchase pump on ebay-TOYOTA COROLLA 1993-2006 BOSCH Fuel Pump any modifications required to the pump? wiring? did the listing on ebay for the part come from San Luis, Az? I'm trying to purchase from the same vender ( ebay Member id premiu ( 4462) ) to fix my 2001 Hijet currently experiencing the same problem. part is listed for 69.99. thanks
I didnt have to modify anything what so ever.. The power connector was identical and it came with 2 differnt style fuel filters....
I just replaced the fuel pump on my truck with a Bosch unit as noted above. https://www.ebay.com/itm/180992468907 I did have to slightly modify the end of the big plastic housing that holds the pump in as the filter was a slightly different shape but it was easy. I'm pretty certain that many of the even less expensive pumps on ebay would probably work just as well. The most difficult part of the job is pulling apart the plastic housing that holds everything. Please note that the fuel pressure regulator lives in that housing and, from the looks of mine, can possibly get clogged. My original pump did actually work but not enough fuel was getting to the engine so I just pulled everything - pump, injectors, pressure regulator - and cleaned everything out and put in a new filter and pump. Works better than ever!
