Hello all! I’m new to the forum but have 1996 Suzuki Carry DD51T that is not wanting to take the gas at lower RPS in higher gears and also strong exhaust smell. It would idle good but exhaust smelt a bit rich. How reliable are the thermal chokes on these and also should I be at the air/fuel mixture screw as well? Carb is a replacement and I didn’t make any adjustments to it when I got it. I just installed it on the truck and the truck fired right up. I have done the following things
    • Replaced all vacuum lines to the carb
    • Replaced the rubber fuel lines
    • Replaced the fuel filter
    • Replaced the air filter
    • Replaced the the carb
    • Replaced the fuel pump
    • Cleaned out the gas tank
    • Replaced the spark plug wires
Again. It don’t seem to want to take the gas at lower RPMs in each gear and exhaust smells rich and it fouled the plugs.

thanks for any help you can provide

Try adjustment screw, but make sure you know where you started.
