That’s exactly my issue with my wires, but even after trying to push them deeper they still do not snap on. I changed my plugs and wires a couple of weeks back. After driving my van around for the next couple of weeks my van died on the highway. I pulled the plugs and they were completely destroyed. I’m pretty sure it’s from the wires not snapping onto the plugs the photos below show the destroyed plug and the new plug wire on the left and the original plug wire on the right with the plugs fully snapped in. The new wires are much shorter than the originals as shown in the photos. I believe we got the same parts from the same parts distributor. The rotor I ordered from them was also the wrong one. It didn’t fit. I’m going to replace the plugs and put on the original wires back onto my acty and see if that fixes my problem.
wow, have never seen such destroyed spark plugs, here is a list https://minitrucktalk.com/threads/acty-spark-plugs.1303/ Engine Size: 660cc Model Code: HA3 / HA4 / HA5 / HH3 / HH4 Engine Type: E07A Genuine Parts No.: 98079-5614E / 980795614E NGK BKR6EIX11P https://autoparts.beforward.jp/detail/NEW-Performance-Parts/Spark-Plugs/NGKM16-BKR6EIX-11P/ Some info on spark plug colors. How do I read a spark plug? http://www.verrill.com/moto/sellingguide/sparkplugs/plugcolorchart.htm http://www.ngksparkplugs.com/about-ngk/faqs/spark-plug-faqs/how-do-i-read-a-spark-plug
Yea, it was quite a surprise since they are fairly new. I used the NGK BKR6E-11 plug from the Minitrucksparts.ca. According to the plug chart you sent, it looks like the wires were the cause as described in the pre ignition photo below
Did you mess with your ignition timing at all? Not sure why plugs and wires would affect timing, that is, if time is the issue.
