The water pump seal groove was too deep. Only 0.1 mm shallower than the gasket. I RMA'd it and the replacement had an in-spec groove. No leaks...
Replacing all of the belts and the water pump on my 1993 van. Everything went pretty smoothly, really. I got it all put back together, started...
So you're keeping the project Sambar then. Nice.
It wouldn't be recommended. If yours is 2WD then you could use the oddball wheel on one of the non-driven wheels, but the handling would be wonky...
Gas with typical US <10% ethanol shouldn't trip a CEL... I would be replacing plugs, wires, cap, and rotor before I started messing with sensors...
Boy, it's not every day that you see someone resurrect an almost 4 year old thread and the OP actually responds. Kudos Stormin.
That is really nice. I almost went this route but then found a cluster with tach on Yakuoku.
Any auto repair shop can do compression and leakdown tests. And anyone who rebuilds engines should be doing one or both before agreeing to take...
You're keeping the Mazdas over the Sambar? Boo. In all seriousness, if I lived closer to you I'd probably offer to buy it.

Solo, this thread is 9 years old, I don't think anyone who was posting in it is still reading this forum regularly. You should probably make your...
Indeed, that is what it was. I had to re-solder that back together last weekend to restore that functionality since we're heading back into the...
Thanks for doing this. It will make it easier to talk the girlfriend into letting me buy a 2nd. "There's a guy on the forum with THREE."
They look good, too. Here is Alex Brown's truck with the 195/50R15 mounted.
Confirmed re: 195/50R15 tires: "They fit with no issues at all. I was surprised they fit as well as they did. This was on stock suspension."
Looks great. You'll want to take a look at the website I've been putting together which covers a lot of common maintenance and upgrade items for...
I got that from someone named Alex Brown who is a member of the Facebook group "Kei truck/van street scene". I can't find his post about it now,...
