Hello, I'm in Portland as well & looking at getting a Suzuki Carry. Have any issues popped up with the legality of your Hijet? I've heard nothing but bad things about getting them legal in Oregon, but really want to get one.

I have a crazy experience purchasing my 1992, 2wd EF-CS 659cc, S82P Daihatsu hijet. And I findley have I in my driveway.

this is an update.

I had a left hand drive and all I had to do was remove the clip in the transfer case that lets it go into hi range. Didn't need to do anything with the govenor. Would let it go about 55mph. Email me at wingnutbrill@yahoo.com if you need more help.

I just purchased a 92 hijet and it should be arriving from the ship on the 16th of Feb. I need for my hijet to move faster than it does.
