    Ok
    I'm going to look at a 88 Carry DB71T
Is there anything to look for that's a issue with these ?
I have had my 91Daihatsu for sometime now but this is my 1st look at a Suzuki.
I've been poking around thru the list here but wasn't really finding anything that sticks out as " Danger Will Robertson"
    Thanks Todd

My friend has, he hauls 20 40-kg cement bags and runs over a decade with engine oil mixed into the radiator and probably the other way around. It still has some decals where it used to be a service truck for party/occasion baloons in Japan. What he always complained about is the dizzy screwed up when liquid seeps in.

Good trucks, among the last of the 550's... no specific issues I can think of. Some had drum brakes in front, some had discs.

The main thing when looking at any of these, whether Suzy's, Mitsu's, Daihatsu's, whatever, is that it's been consistently and properly cared for. As you've probably seen in other threads across the board, deferred maintenance can be a real pain, and end up costing more than doing it right all along would have cost. Especially over there, with parts not as easy or inexpensive to come by.

You wanna see clean oil, clean coolant, clear brake fluid, same as any other used ride. Goes, turns, stops without strangeness. Smoke of any color is a Bad Sign, as is any kind of rust other than maybe a little surface corrosion.

Let us know how it looks. :)

Anne, your friend probably just needs a new cap. Something that can also help is to run a little vaseline or chapstick or the like around the bottom of the cap to keep moisture out.

We'll the one I was interested in was sold but the person who brings them in (about 20+ a month )knows what I'm interested in so he'll have his buyer keep his eye open and let me know when he gets something I'd like .
Seemed like a nice person and took time out of his schedule to talk and willing to work with me as I was willing to drive 2 hours to check out his stock .
Thanks for the info as it seems like they are pretty good models and not to buy one from Anne's friend
